How do we start?
Complete a Project Assessment, click on “Contact Us’ and complete the contact form, or just call us. Starting can be as simple as completing a Project Assessment and hitting “Submit”.
What is your process?
Once we connect, we’ll ask some questions to determine where you’re currently at and what your expectations are. If you have a marketing plan, we’ll talk about how we fit. If you don’t have a marketing plan, no worries. We’ll talk about how your needs for the web fit your ideas of where you want to take your business or group.
Once you receive our proposal, sign and return the acceptance page with a 50% deposit. Once the deposit has cleared, we’ll put you on the calendar and then start the project.
A typical process is to create a design based on your input, the specs defined in our proposal and budget. The design is a wire frame layout of your website. Once the wire frame is accepted via a sign-off, implementation of the website will begin.
Once the website is complete, we’ll ask for your sign-off review. We’ll coordinate final payment and site go-live. Lastly, once final payment has cleared, we’ll provide you with a backup of the website, including images as contained on the site, any usernames/passwords and information on third-party products.
How much input will you need?
Well, we bring general web & business expertise to the table and we need you to share your expertise in your field – chances are that we’re far from an expert in your business. Expect to spend time on this project – not that you’re just hiring a web company and you can wash your hands of the process. I mean, you can do that. But you won’t be happy with the results and we won’t either. We’ll need a single point of contact at your organization to work with. First, we’ll need to understand your business and then we’ll need help to craft your message in a way that is easy to digest by your customers. Expect to invest time.
How long will it take?
Typically, our projects take 45-60 calendar days from start to delivery. Exactly how long depends on the specifics of the project and the time it takes to provide feedback. Sometimes getting feedback is the biggest hurdle. While Maroon may be focused on your project and the point of contact or project manager may be focused on your project – sometimes getting input from others in your organization is like herding cats… a real challenge.
What do you need from us?
A Project Assessment, background on your company, timely response and an agreeable nature.
How is content developed?
Content is either provided directly by the client or developed jointly as part of the project. That impacts the project budget and schedule and is specified in the proposal. Sometimes the plan changes – it may be that the images you thought you had didn’t materialize or the content an internal team was working on got back burnered. No worries, let us know and the proposal will be updated.
Who provides the pictures & video content?
We’ll talk about this prior to providing you a proposal, because it will impact cost. Stock images are purchased directly by the client so you own the license. Other photography is provided by the client or arrangements are made to pay a photographer to take pictures.
How is the site maintained?
You own your content. How any templates or themes used on the site are licensed will be specified in the proposal/contract. Either you can maintain your website in-house or Maroon can be hired on an hourly/monthly/yearly contract basis to perform site maintenance.
While a third party may provide simple maintenance to the site (adding posts or pages such as blog postings or news updates), any changes to templates and website design are prohibited.
What we can’t do is have more than one organization working on the site. That sometimes leads to finger pointing, we won’t put you in a position to go there.
We can take care of maintenance for you. Visit our maintenance site for our basic plans or speak with us about customizing a plan for you.
Are there any restrictions?
Only as outlined in the Terms of Service.
Do you provide hosting?
We recommend hosting service by DreamHost (small site) or Media Temple (all sites).
