Some WordPress sliders or functions ask for the page or post id.
But WHERE is it? Not intuitively obvious right?
One way to find it…
- Log into the WordPress admin panel.
- Navigate to “Pages” or “Posts” and select. (Note when you select “Pages” or “Posts” the list is displayed just as if you had taken the extra step to select “Pages=>All Pages” or “Posts=>All Posts”)
- Hover over the page or post title and the page id or post id will be displayed in the bottom status area “?post= xx.” Where xx is the page id or post id.
See the example below for the “Blog” page.
The page id for the page “Blog” is highlighted in yellow under the red arrow.
In this example, the page id = 4.
The figure shows a Page. For a post, select “Posts” and highlight the Post title to see the post id in the bottom status area.
There, now you know how to Find the WordPress Page Id or Post Id.
It may seem confusing to have both the Page Id and the Post Id identified as a “post=xx.”
Yes, posts and pages are different in WordPress.
But… they are both types of posts.
